Sunday Morning Gospel

Hey Family,

Church today was slammin', per usual. I attend Mt. Ararat in Pgh, PA (http://www.mt-ararat.org/). If you can get to any of their services, you should really check it out. Today's message was about living past your hurts. Reverend Curtis made some really good points:
  • Just because we are God's children doesn't mean we won't have hurts. Hurts come from ourselves, our situations or other people around us, but God doesn't need to use them to get our attention (He's too fly for that).
  • Sometimes, though, God has to rehabilitate us. That may be painful, but God will leave you stronger in the broken places than you were before.
  • Marinating in your hurts isn't healthy, because you end up contaminating the environment and relationships around you. You have to let God heal you before you start using your hurt as a focal point for ministry
Pastor Curtis' sign off referenced Einstein's theory of relativity: if you know ONE thing about SOMEthing, then you know SOMEthing about EVERYthing. Well, if you know ONE thing, know that God is good and it will relate to every pain, hurt, struggle, and joy in your life.

That's all, folks
